Two weeks. Forty teenagers. One big difference.
Are you between 15 and 18 years old? Do you want to spend your summer
doing something meaningful, making new friends and sleeping under the stars?
Then Green Hands is the place for you! For the past twelve years, our camp
in the Upper Galilee has brought together teenagers from all over the
country to help nature and the local community.
What will you do? Every morning, campers work in small groups on a
different project. You might plant trees in a forest that was damaged by
fire, clean a stream so that fish can return to it, or help at an animal
shelter where dogs and cats are waiting for new homes. Last summer our
campers collected more than two tonnes of rubbish from beaches and
riverbanks!
Work starts early, at 6:30, before the day gets too hot, and ends at
noon. After lunch and a rest, the afternoons are free for swimming, sports
and workshops, from photography to first aid. In the evenings we sit around
the campfire, sing, and invite guests to talk about nature.
What should you bring? Comfortable work clothes, closed shoes, a hat, a
water bottle and a sleeping bag. Please leave expensive electronics at home.
Phones may be used for one hour each evening.
The camp costs 2,400 shekels, including food, transport from Tel Aviv,
Haifa and Jerusalem, and all equipment. We believe that money should not
stop anyone from joining, so we offer a limited number of scholarships. To
apply, fill in the form on our website before 1 May.
"I came for the trees and stayed for the people. It was the best summer
