יש לקרוא את שני הטקסטים ולענות באנגלית על השאלות שאחרי כל טקסט. על טעויות בדקדוק או בכתיב לא מורידים נקודות, כל עוד התשובה ברורה.

Read the two texts and answer the questions that follow each text, in English. Points are not taken off for grammar or spelling mistakes, as long as the answer is clear.

Text 1: Music After School

Every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, sixty young musicians meet

in a small hall in Be'er Sheva. They are the members of the Desert

Wind Youth Orchestra. The youngest player is eleven, and the oldest is

eighteen.

The orchestra started ten years ago with only twelve children. Its

conductor, Avi Shalev, was a music teacher who wanted to give children

from all parts of the city a chance to play together. Today, the

orchestra has violins, cellos, flutes, trumpets and drums. Children

who cannot buy an instrument can borrow one for free.

Practice is serious. Players must come on time, and they must

practise at home for at least thirty minutes every day. "It is hard

work, but when we play together, it feels like magic," says Lior, 15,

who plays the cello.

Twice a year, the orchestra gives a concert for families and

friends. Last summer, it played at a music festival in Greece. For

many of the children, it was their first trip abroad.

Text 2: GreenRide: Bikes for Everyone

Do you need to get across town quickly? Try GreenRide, the city's

new bicycle-sharing programme. There are 300 bikes at 40 stations

around the city, near schools, parks, the train station and the beach.

The bikes are available 24 hours a day.

Using GreenRide is easy. First, download the app and open an

account. Then find a station near you and scan the code on a bike with

your phone. When you finish your ride, return the bike to any station.

The lock closes automatically.

The first 30 minutes of every ride are free. After that, you pay

two shekels for every 15 minutes. You can also buy a monthly card for

50 shekels.

Remember: riders must be 16 or older, and everyone must wear a

helmet. Do not ride on the pavement – use the bike paths. If a bike is

broken, report it in the app so we can fix it.
