יש לקרוא את הטקסט ולענות על השאלות באנגלית. אפשר לענות במילים שלך, אלא אם השאלה מבקשת להעתיק מהטקסט. אחר כך כותבים את החיבור בחלק B.

Read the text and answer the questions in English. Answer in your own words if the question does not ask for words from the text. Then write the composition in Part B.

A personal account by Tamar, 17

Last year, I decided to join a volunteer programme at the children's

hospital in my city. I was sixteen, and to be honest, I was nervous. I had

never spent much time in a hospital, and I was afraid I would feel sad all

the time.

Before we started, the volunteers took a six-week course. A nurse taught

us how to wash our hands properly and why we must never come when we have a

cold. A psychologist explained that sick children do not want pity. "They

want to be treated like normal kids," she told us. "Play with them, laugh

with them, and let them choose the game."

Every Friday morning, I spend three hours in the playroom on the fourth

floor. Some children come in wheelchairs, and others are connected to

machines, but they all want the same thing: to forget for a while that they

are in hospital. We build towers from blocks, paint pictures and play board

games. A seven-year-old boy named Eitan beats me at chess every week, and he

loves to remind me about it.

Of course, some days are hard. Once, a girl I had played with for weeks

was suddenly moved to another ward because she was very ill, and I cried all

the way home. My mother sat with me and said that feeling sad was a sign

that I cared.

Volunteering has changed me. I used to complain about small things, like

a bad grade or a slow internet connection. Now I know how lucky I am to be

healthy. Next year, I am going to train new volunteers myself.
